What We Believe

Our Purpose Statement.

A community of God’s people called to reach, teach and empower people to become dedicated followers of Jesus Christ.

We believe that the Bible is God’s Word that guides and directs all that we are and do.
(1 Peter 1:23, 2 Timothy 3:16, 2 Peter 1:21)

We believe in the one eternal God; the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
(1 John 4:23-26, Isaiah 40:28)

We believe in our personal salvation through faith in Jesus Christ alone, which brings us into the family of God by the Holy Spirit.
(Romans 3:23; John 3:16, John 14:6, John 5:24,: John 1:12)

We believe in the importance of the Church as God’s people.  The Church is the community of faith who believe in Jesus Christ and know God as their heavenly Father.  They experience spiritual unity because the Holy Spirit lives in them.
(Ephesians 1:13-14, 1 Corinthians 12:13)

We believe and practice baptism by immersion for those who believe in Jesus Christ.  We regard this as a symbolic act of obedience, rather than as something essential for salvation.
(Acts 8:29-39)

We believe that Communion is an important symbol of our unity with Christ and with the community of faith.  We celebrate this most Sundays.
(Acts 20:7, 1 Corinthians 11:23-29)

We believe in unity, liberty and love;
On matters central to the faith – unity
On matters disputable in the faith – liberty
In everything – love
