In this series, we explore ways the Book of Psalms, born out of divine-human encounters over more than a thousand years and under diverse circumstances, that helps us grow deeper in life with Christ. Through the psalmists, we discover how to trust the Lord because of his love, goodness, power, and righteousness. In this series, we apply the psalmists' words to some of the situations and challenges we face as Christians today.
Lent is the six weeks before Easter, and in 2023 goes from February 22nd until April 6th. At WCC, we focus on this season through our Sunday services from March 5th to April 2nd. This season of Lent at WCC is a call to follow Christ’s cross-bearing.
Participating in Lent is voluntary, and if you choose to do so, you could:
- Just as Christ gave himself up for all of us, give something up. For example, stop accessing social media, watching TV, or streaming, abstain from eating certain foods, etc. It is up to you. Perhaps through prayer, the Lord will guide you about what he’d like you to give up during Lent.
- Increased personal Bible study, prayer and fasting.
Our encouragement is to use this season of Lent to help prepare our minds and hearts for the celebration of the death and resurrection of Jesus at Easter.
Join us this Sunday in-person and online live-stream as we continue our sermon series called: Deeper Life in Christ through Psalms - During the Season of Lent.
Rob Campbell will share the fourth message titled, ‘Growing Deeper through Hidden Struggles’ and Gabby McAlpine will lead us in communion.
Kids Church and Jellybeans will continue to look at the ‘Back to the Basics’ series - Prayer.
Week 4: Growing Deeper through Hidden Struggles
Struggles, especially hidden ones or ones we want to keep out of view, are part of our Christian experience. The psalmists also experienced doubts and struggles with their lives and trust in God. They wrote texts that help us appreciate our struggles as we consider the struggles the psalmists endured
Have a blessed week.
