Jesus Will Build His Church
Key verse: “Now I say to you that you are Peter (which means ‘rock’), and upon this rock, I will build my church, and all the powers of hell will not conquer it” (Matt 16:18, NLT).
Purpose of the series: On 8 October, WCC celebrates its 77th anniversary. We take this opportunity to do a four-week study from Acts about Jesus’ purpose for his Church, especially our church, which “…is established [to] be a biblically functioning community on the principles of the first Church [Acts 2:42-47]” (WCC Constitution, pg 1).
